What Someone Learnt About Life

What have you learnt about life?

You may not be a grey-haired sage of 80, but the truths of life are revealed throughout your lifetime. Although no one can claim to know all there is to know about life, you must have some idea.

Well, here's what someone learnt about life:

Don't go for looks. It can deceive. Don't go for wealth, for even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because only a smile can make a dark day seem bright.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it. But it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably does hurt the person too.

A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck a life. A timely word may level stress. A loving word may heal and bless.

Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, and the romance, and you find that you still care for that person.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that comes their way.

Sometimes, the most extensive article may say very little or nothing to you, but a short and simple phrase says it all.

Something To Ponder

The following is something to ponder if you don't know what to be thankful for.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church or synagogue meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ... you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Now isn’t that something to ponder about?

Why are Dogs Man's Best Friend

Found this in a local forum. Its heart warming to note that this dog brave across the street to save his friend who was knocked down by a car.

However, after realizing that his friend was already dead, he tries his best to move it away from the traffic. Knowing that he was too weak to do that, he stayed behind to keep his friend company.

There are times where passerby wanted to help but was barked away by the dog. It is a classic example of why they are called 'Man's Best Friend'.
I wonder sometimes, if the people around us will go to that extend and stay around when you are in trouble, or will they just leave.

Are You Missing Opportunities?

Before I start babbling about the universe and laws, I want you to watch this video and maybe follow the instructions very carefully. If you do what is asked, you will be more aware of the reason why success eludes you. After that, read on.

Have you watched the video? What do you think of it? Did you see the 'opportunity' in the form of gorilla? Sometimes all we need to realize is that opportunities are everywhere. But because we are focusing on the wrong things. Things we always called problems, we do not realize they are also opportunities dressed in overalls.

The Law of Attraction states that you attract into your life the predominant thoughts in your mind. If you choose to complain and focus on problems, that’s what you get! If you choose to focus and look out for opportunities, you will see them everywhere!

So, stop whining and complaining. Focus on what you are grateful for everyday. You will notice a dramatic change in your life. Not sure about that? ask the gorilla!

Free Hugs Campaign: How Did It All Started

How Did It All Started, In The Words of Founder Juan Mann

I'd been living in London when my world turned upside down and I'd had to come home. By the time my plane landed back in Sydney, all I had left was a carry on bag full of clothes and a world of troubles. No one to welcome me back, no place to call home. I was a tourist in my hometown.

Standing there in the arrivals terminal, watching other passengers meeting their waiting friends and family, with open arms and smiling faces, hugging and laughing together, I wanted someone out there to be waiting for me. To be happy to see me. To smile at me. To hug me.

So I got some cardboard and a marker and made a sign. I found the busiest pedestrian intersection in the city and held that sign aloft, with the words "Free Hugs" on both sides.

And for 15 minutes, people just stared right through me. The first person who stopped, tapped me on the shoulder and told me how her dog had just died that morning. How that morning had been the one year anniversary of her only daughter dying in a car accident. How what she needed now, when she felt most alone in the world, was a hug. I got down on one knee, we put our arms around each other and when we parted, she was smiling.

Everyone has problems and for sure mine haven't compared. But to see someone who was once frowning, smile even for a moment, is worth it every time.

Lesson From a Baboon - Never Give Up!

This baboon fought for her life when others have given up on saving her. It also shows how close our behaviors are compared to the animals.

Cruel Gossip Cruel Hoax

SOMEONE close to you has been missing for weeks.

You are worried sick.

You put up posters, look for her everywhere and as a last resort, you put up a website hoping against hope someone will help you find her.

But then, to your dismay, people go online and begin posting horrid rumours about your friend.

Some even abuse the contact information you posted online.

So you get prank calls and false information on your friend's whereabouts, leading you on heartbreaking wild goose chases.

This is what happened to friends of 19-year-old student Felicia Teo Wei Ling, who went missing more than a month ago.

The friends are now incensed over comments posted on a forum thread, where they used to get information on Miss Teo's whereabouts.

Miss Teo went missing on 30 Jun, and was last seen leaving a friend's flat in Marine Terrace. She had gone there after a party at the LaSalle-SIA School of the Arts campus, where she is studying.

Search efforts have been futile, and police still have no leads on Miss Teo's whereabouts.

Posting under a forum nickname, an Internet user on the popular local forum,, provided 'information' on Miss Teo's whereabouts.

The user, nicknamed playb0y, claimed that Miss Teo is now living with a friend named Ben, and that he had even seen her last Tuesday.

He claimed that she had taken to drinking, and had left home because she had failed her exams and didn't want to face the music.

He even provided a phone number - claiming it was Ben's - challenging visitors to the site to call and find out the 'truth'.

But repeated calls to the number went straight to a voice mailbox.

These, her friends said, are all cruel lies.

And the agony didn't end there.

Posters appealing for information on Miss Teo's whereabouts were put up all over Singapore.

Miss Teo's close friend, Mr Dahiyaht Yusof, 27, told The New Paper that in addition to the malicious online posts, he has also received numerous prank calls giving false information on Miss Teo's whereabouts.

His handphone number is one of two contact numbers provided on the website set up for Miss Teo (

On the site are also pictures of Miss Teo posing casually with her friends.

Mr Dahiyaht said: 'When we actually went down to the places they said she (Miss Teo) was, we realised that these were all pranks.'

He added that he firmly believes that MissTeo is 'not a runaway case', contrary to all the wild speculation on the forums, and on Miss Teo's website.

On how to handle these online rumour-mongers, Mr Dahiyaht said exasperatedly: 'What can we do? We just want to find her.'

He declined to comment further.

Another of Miss Teo's friends, who did not want to be named, told Shin Min Daily News that the forum posts about Miss Teo living with a friend were likely to be a hoax, because none of her closest friends knew of any 'Ben' she may have known .

'I called the number (given by Ben) to check - but it wouldn't get through,' he said.

There were many visitors to the Findfelicia website, but the thing that upset Miss Teo's friends further were dubious comments by visitors claiming they had seen visions of MissTeo in various places.

One user wrote that he had seen Miss Teo in a dream, being tortured and begging for help.

Crime Library founder and ex-policeman Joseph Tan, 40, who is helping in the search for Miss Teo, told The New Paper that these incidents were to be expected since Miss Teo's friends' contact information were so widely broadcasted.

'It's all right for friends to seek help, but when they are sent on all these wild goose chases, their morale is bound to be dampened,' he said.

Mr Tan said that when those closest to Miss Teo are highly anxious, false information on her whereabouts would only raise their hopes unnecessarily.

'In cases like this, I would encourage friends and family to refrain from putting up their own personal contact information,' he advised.

He added that in his experience, families of missing people who widely disseminate their contact information also find themselves prey to unscrupulous con artists.

He said: 'Some have even called families to solicit money.'

But these negative incidents aside, the search for Miss Teo is going on strong.

The Crime Library has put up a half-page advertisement in The Straits Times today with photographs of Miss Teo and five other missing people.

A notice is also placed on the Crime Library's website.

The library's 274 volunteers are constantly on the lookout for information related to MissTeo's disappearance.

Anyone with information on her should call the police hotline at 1800-255 0000.

Hope she can be found soon.

Going The Extra Mile

There is one sure way to get what you want in life, but few people actually do it. Put this practice firmly into your day to day business activities and you will have an advantage over the rest of the crowd.

Successful people realize their life long dreams by doing things that most people are not willing to do. If you can just do what is needed instead of what you want to do, you can accomplish a lot.

People that get what they want in business don't just give 100% each day. When the day is through and you've done your best, it is now time to make the extra effort to accomplish one more small goal or to finish the day's original goal. 'Going the extra mile' does not require a massive effort on your part. If you put forth only 5% of your daily effort, a small goal is easily attained. Doing this only three days a week can produce impressive results by the end of the month.

Do you have a problem getting things done? Then don't be satisfied with another day gone and your goal not met. Put forth that small extra effort on a regular basis and you will begin reaching your goals.

Going the extra mile is part of a small business success mindset. It's your business, you are ultimately responsible for the results. Setting deadlines for yourself and writing down your goals makes it easier to go the extra mile. You can see on paper the goal set for that day. Many times you will see that by the end of the day you are very close to meeting your goal. You can now go your extra mile because you know it is only going to take a small amount of extra effort.

Going the extra mile will enable you to reach more of your goals. This allows you to 'raise the bar' on your new goals, creating growth in your business. Growth does wonders for your attitude and makes the road to success more enjoyable.

What's the bottom line on going the extra mile? More signups for your network marketing business. More sales for your infoproduct business. And you'll get what you want a lot faster when you are willing to do what others are not.

Deal or No Deal?

Are you willing to trade any of these for A million Dollars? For those who think that they have not rich enough, maybe you want to consider these offers? Take a look and see what the offers are and then decide again if you are rich. Personally, if you can see this message, you are rich enough.

Oprah and The Secret

In this interview with Larry King, Oprah discusses how the law of attraction played a major role in her life and happiness. The law of attraction is the topic of the movie, The Secret. Oprah tells Larry King she's happy it is getting as much publicity as it is because the law of attraction worked for her.

Getting what you want with all you've got

Ok ok....Anyone who is as bookworm as me will realize that the title above comes from a book by Jay Abraham. A marketing expert in the states. But I am not promoting his book here.

I have observe that in recently, more and more posts talk about 'what we want' 'how to retire early' etc. But none talked about how to get there. So I might as well join in the hype. Below is what I believe and personally have tested method in the 'how' of achieving anything you want....

Goal - Identify what you truely want to achieve. By identifying I actually mean be specific. Alot of times, when asked what we want in life, our ans will be..."be happy lor", 'be rich or have alot of $$$"

What is 'happy'? how can you define happy? and what is rich? too vauge a goal doesnt make it a goal...its juz mere wishes.

An example of a goal will be "I want to earn $300k per annum by XXXX yr" or "I want to improve my relationship with my family in XXX months"......

Plan - This is where people lost their sign of ambition. They never write it down and think of a plan of achieving what they want. Please....if you really need to achieve the goal, the first action is to write it down.

Have a word doc of your lists of goals and put a date beside it. Then open another word doc and work out the plan on achieving each and every goal...

I have 2 big goals in life and 24 small goals.....I have plans for the 2 big biggy and will slowly take my time to plan on achieving small goals....

List it down and create a plan of action.

Visualizing - There is a vid and a book called 'The Secret'...Its based on the principle of Law of Attraction. What it simply means is that 'You become what you think of most of the time'. I have tested it and it works.

Look back at your goals, close your eyes and 'see' yourself already achieving them. 'look' around the enviroment where you acheive them. What does it feels like after you acheive your goal?

I use this techinique everyday when I am on my way to work, I 'see' myself talking to a crowd. (that was when i have not joined TMC). The day did come when I finally stand in front of the crowd.

This is not a one off thing. You need to repeat that scene every day to make it work.

Doing - The source of success is in the doing. You muz do something to get something. Pay the price of work so as to reap the benefits of success.

After all the planning and visualizing, still got to work for it. But now, you know what you are working for.

Embracing - Embrace small little achievements along the way. Celebrate and be happy about it. Your confidence will grow and you will eventually be larger than life.

Recommendation: Read your list of goals at least once a day....Do make it a point to alter your plans from time to time...but never shift your goal....

An Amazing Dog

Alot of times we are being told about what we cant do instead of what we can do. We do not know how much we can achieve because most people don't believe we can achieve. This little clip shows how a dog owner believe that, despite being born without two front legs, his pet is going to walk...I hope this clip will inspire you because it definitely inspired me to believe that I can be more than I am.

Faith was born without front legs, and through training and a will to survive, learned how to walk on her hind legs with the help of her owners. This interview documents the struggle and determination both Faith and her owners display.

Boy Thanks Homeless Hero In Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH A little boy gave a homeless man everything he's got, in gratitude for saving his father's life in Delray Beach.

Milton Pendleton has been praised in the news for saving two men who were injured in a small plane crash in Delray Beach last week, and even though he's seen better times, his heart was filled with emotion when a10-year-old boy gave him his life savings of $100 cash.

Joshua Swerdlow says it took him eight months to save up the cash, but he was inspired after seeing the story on TV.

"He's homeless and he helped those two pilots, and he shouldn't be living in there," said 10-year-old Joshua. "It's just amazing that he's living like that."

His parents accompanied him in the trip they made from Miami to thank Pendleton.

“You don’t want me to cry,” said Pendleton. "You know the kid has got a heart. That’s very sweet.”

Pendleton says he wasn't always homeless, and had a roofing job, but eventually fell on hard times when he could no longer pay for a roof over his head. He still works washing cars everyday, but it's not enough to pay for a place to live, so he must continue 'camping out' as he calls it.

After CBS4 News cameras captured the moment, Pendleton had to be on his way to work, washing more cars.

Learning more from kids

Sometimes when I look at kids, I cant help myself but to chuckle. They are so cute and ignorant. They would try anything not knowing that it isn't going to work out the way they want. But as we grew older, we tend to lose this 'ignorant' spirit. The spirit is replaced by fear. fear of failure and fail of criticism. And because of these fear, we aren't able to achieve what we are entitled to. Isn't it sad, knowing that you can have anything you want but just because of fear, you lose the spirit of being ignorant?

This little clip hopes to inspire the spirit inside you. A cute toddler is determine to finish the fruit despite it being sour. The spirit of ignorant.

Kissing Lion

People in Cali, Colombia, are shocked to see the bond between a large African lion and a woman who saved it from abuse, involving long, affectionate kisses and hugs between the pair.

Julia Torres, who runs the Villa Lorena animal shelter in Cali, fed and nursed Jupiter the African lion back to health years ago after it was found abused and emaciated in a traveling circus.
"It is amazing to see an animal like that be so sweet and affectionate," said Torres. "This hug is the most sincere one that I have received in my life."

Torres, 47, said her work rehabilitating animals began more than a decade ago when a friend gave her an owl that had been kept as a pet.

Later, when she asked her students to bring their pets to school, she realized many families illegally kept wild fauna from Colombia's biologically diverse jungles in their homes.
The number of animals under her care grew, and now Jupiter is among 800 recovering creatures at Villa Lorena, where Torres looks after, among others, burned peacocks, limbless flamengos, blind monkeys and mutilated elephants.

Most of the animals are caged, though some, like iguanas, roam freely around the grounds of the shelter, which are enclosed by a 13-foot wall.

Torres said she relies on donations and her modest teacher's salary to run the shelter.

We dedicate our lives to the care of these animals without one single peso from the state," Torres said.

Torres said many of the animals were rejected as infants by their parents in the wild or found abandoned on the streets of Cali.

Torres said because she opposes exhibiting animals in circuses, she decided to keep her shelter closed from the public.

Lessons In Forgiveness

We ought to learn a thing or two from this young girl. She was accidentally hit by a stray bullet while standing at the balcony and as a result, will be paralyse for life. Yet in court, her statement may even make a real man tear. "I forgive him, what he has done was wrong but I forgive him" and "He didn't mean to do it." These words came from an innocent 6 years old.

Creating a Fantasy

The biggest single obstacle to setting goals is “self-limiting beliefs”. You sell yourself short because you believe that you do not have the skills, ability, talent, creativity or intelligence to achieve something you want. By underestimating yourself, you either set no goals or low goals that are far below what you could have accomplished.

If you really have the desire to start achieving something, start by creating a fantasy. Imagine what your ideal career/business life will be like five years from now by answering the following questions:

What would it look like to you?

What would you be doing?

Where do you think you will be doing it?

Who would you want to be working with?

What level of responsibility would want to you have?

What kind of skills and abilities would you want to acquire?

What kind of goals would you want to accomplish?

What level of status would you want to find yourself in?

Now to make it more interesting, imagine your financial situation five years from now:

How much money would you be earning five yrs from today?

What sort of lifestyle would you want to have?

What kind of home would you want to live in?

What kind of car would you love to drive?

What kind of material luxuries would you be providing for yourself and your family?

How much would you want to have in the bank?

How much would you be saving and investing each month and each year?

How much would you want to be worth when you retire?

Look at your family and relationships today and project five years into the future:

If your family life were perfect five years from now, what do you think it would look like?

Who would you be with? Who would you no longer be with?

Where and how would you be living?

What kind of living standards would you want to have?

What kind of relationships would you have with the most important people in your life five years from now if everything were perfect in every aspect?

After you fantasize and imagine what your life will be, the only question you need to ask is how? Asking it repeatedly trigger ideas to help you accomplish your goals. Successful people ask only the question “How?” and then work on finding ways to turn their vision or goals into realities.

Goal setting is a great way to make sure you achieve what your heart desire.
